About Kyle    

   Kyle Smeallie joined Harvey in July 2008 after graduating from Boston College with degrees in political science and communication. Raised in Alexandria, Virginia, Kyle's interest in civil liberties was piqued when a Virginia police officer illegally deleted photographs he had taken for his high school newspaper.

   At Boston College, Kyle served on the editorial board of The Heights, BC's independent student newspaper, writing more than seventy news and feature articles.

   Since joining Harvey, Kyle has written articles for the Boston Phoenix and Minding the Campus, and he has contributed to Harvey's pieces in the National Law Journal, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and Forbes.com, among others. As a program associate for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), Kyle has also contributed regularly to FIRE's blog, The Torch.
